Both branches share a common programming and IT foundation in Semesters I–II. From Semester IV onward, the AI branch specialises into machine learning, data and big data analytics, and applied AI, while CSE keeps a broader software-development focus. AI is best suited to students specifically interested in data science, analytics, and intelligent-systems careers.

The curriculum covers C and Python programming, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, and tools such as Jupyter Notebook, NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and standard machine learning libraries, alongside Linux, database systems, and networking tools used in applied AI projects.

The programme follows the SBTE Bihar curriculum (2024 syllabus). AICTE-approval status and sanctioned intake for the AI branch at DD Polytechnic will be confirmed and updated once formally notified by BPTIA/SBTE.

Graduates can pursue roles such as AI Technician, Junior Machine Learning Engineer, Data Analyst, Python Developer, Junior Data Scientist, and Business Intelligence Associate, in addition to core IT/networking support roles that remain available to all computing diploma holders.
